In order to provide effective, practical oriented training, Kombolcha Agricultural College should strengthen his financial capability and work in collaboration with support organizations. Though the college is trying its best through designing various projects, the overall performance regarding project experience is so confined. However, some of the projects with remarkable contribution to the college – Small and Micro Irrigation Service /SMIS/ and Food and agricultural Organization /FAO/- .are the following.
The small scale and Micro Irrigation Support Project (SMIS) is established with the ultimate funding from the Government of Canada through the Department of Foreign Affairs Trade and Development (DFATD) and the Government of The Netherlands. The project is extending technical support towards achieving the objectives set for the sector by the region.
SMIS project is working in collaboration with the College, particularly with Water Resource and Irrigation Department with the objective of producing quality education and training in small and micro irrigation management and engineering. Due to its practical achievements, the college is mandated as the center of excellence of Amhara Region in this field of study.
